Baba Baidyanath Dham, Deoghar(Jasidih)
I was recently travelling from New Delhi to Deoghar, Jharkhand my home town, while i was in train, i saw few people who were travelling to Baba Baidyanath Dham for the first time and they were pretty clue less about the city and how to reach to the temple.
That made me to help those people, i talked to them and told about the city and places to visit. I felt good but it wasn't very much that i wanted to do, so i am writing this blog to help the people who want to visit Baba Baidyanath Dham, Deoghar.
Baba Baidyanath Dham temple who is also known as one of the Jyotirlings is situated in Deoghar district, whose nearest railway station is Jasihid Junction. Jyotirling is known as presence of Lord Shiva, and so Baidyanath Dham is famous for. This temple has got more famous in last one decade after Gulshan kumar's bhajans on lord Shiva. During month of Shrawan(hindi calendar month) a month long Shrawani Mela get arranged for visitors which is getting more and more famous.

As this blog is mainly about reaching to Deoghar city, i want to mention that there are two ways, one is train and other one is flight. For train bookings - anyone can make a booking from his desired station to Jasidih Junction. For flight - there are two airports close to Deoghar - a) Patna and b) Kolkata. After arriving at the closest airport you can take a train which will drop you at jasidih junction anywhere between 3 to 5 hours from a train journey, depending on the kind of train you choose.
Once you arrive at Jasidih junction, you can choose to hire a private car from gate no. 1, which can be between 300 to 500 Rs. based on the place or hotel you want to go.
If you are on a budget trip, then you can take an auto rickshaw(reserve or sharing basis) from gate no. 2 to auto stand near the city centre, which is roughly 7 km away from jasidih junction. Either you can reserve an auto rickshaw for anywhere between 70 to 150 Rs. based on your destination or pay 15 Rs. per person for sharing basis trip to auto stand from the railway station. If you take sharing auto rickshaw then you have find your way to the main temple(which is at north side from auto stand) either by walking to temple for 10 mins or take a rickshaw for more 15 Rs per person.
There are variety of accommodations available in city ranging from cheap lodges to expensive hotels. A lodge can start from 50 Rs. for one single bed shared with someone(you don't have to share the bed though). You can also choose to stay in an inexpensive hotel with family that could range from 200 Rs. to 2000 Rs. or take a luxury hotel for between 3500 Rs. to 8000 Rs.
